I liked you
So I wanted to tell you everything.
These are my brothers’ names and here are the people who hurt them.
And look at this scar on my shin from that one summer.
I usually ramble. Put my own static in the air.
But
I liked you
So I wanted to hear everything.
Your breath,
Your laugh,
The wick of moisture on your eyes.
Where were you when this happened?
What does your tattoo mean?
How bad did it hurt when you found a strand of her hair two months after she left you?
Have you stopped crying for every memory you didn’t make?
There is grief in heartbreak, I know.
But a broken heart is opened.
And I am listening, lay your pain to rest in my ears.
And I wish you liked me the way I liked you.
I can tell that you don’t.
I wish you liked me the way I like you.
I wish you loved me.
And you never heard my voice
So I didn’t tell you anything.
